 M.E.C.C.A. is a non-profit organization whose mission is to foster a culture of tolerance of diversity among Muslim-Americans while providing new Muslims with the education and emotional support they need to become strong and knowledgeable members of the Muslim-American community.
SHORT SURAS & DEEP MEANINGS: A 7-week course designed to aid students in proper pronunciation and memorization of the last ten chapters (suras) of the Qur’an. Students will go over each sura in class, practicing its recitation in groups and one-on-one with the instructors. Class time will also be spent to studying the meanings of the suras being memorized. CLASS WILL MEET ON: Wednesdays 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM & Sundays 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. COURSE FEE: $40.00, materials included.* INSTRUCTORS: Ebadur Rahman memorized the Qur’an at age 15 in New York City. After graduating from high school, Ebad moved to California to study at Zaytuna Institute’s seminary program where he completed a four year program in Arabic and Islamic sciences. Fatima Jilani studied Quranic recitation in Damascus, Syria and received her ijaza in Tajweed al Quran there. |
